Governance

Announced by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) on 29 November 2008, Health Workforce Australia (HWA) is a Commonwealth statutory authority based in Adelaide.

HWA is accountable to all its stakeholders for the values it upholds, the mission it pursues and the goals and priorities it sets.

The HWA governance structure ensures these standards are met.

The HWA Board is the governing body of HWA.

HWA reports to the Australian Health Ministers' Conference (AHMC).

HWA is managed on a day to day basis by its CEO, Mark Cormack.

HWA has a number of expert committees and consultants engaged to assist with HWA functions as required; as well as HWA staff.
