HWA Board - Dr Peggy Brown

Dr Brown is well placed to assist the HWA Board given her wealth of understanding in the field of mental health. Dr Brown is Director-General of the ACT Government Health Directorate, and has previously been the Chief Psychiatrist and Director of Mental Health in the Australian Capital Territory and also in Queensland Health. She was a National Health Service International Fellow in the United Kingdom. She has held multiple roles on professional bodies, including the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, the National Mental Health Working Group and as a member of the Psychiatry Workforce Working Group of the Australian Medical Workforce Advisory Committee. She is currently a member of the Australian Health Ministers’ Advisory Committee and a Director of the National E-Health Transition Authority. Dr Brown was appointed as the Australian Capital Territory’s nominee to the HWA Board in February 2010.
