HWA Board - Professor Sandra Capra AM

Professor Capra’s extensive career in nutrition and dietetics, encompassing clinical, community, food service, management, research and teaching roles, is an advantage to the HWA Board. She was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2003 for her contribution to community health, nutrition and dietetics education. At present, she is Professor of Nutrition at the University of Queensland and Professor of Allied Health Research at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. She has always been actively involved in professional associations, having served as President of the Dietitians Association of Australia as well as a Director and is currently Chair of the Board of Directors of the International Confederation of Dietetic Associations. Professor Capra was appointed as an independent member of the HWA Board in February 2010.
