HWA is proud to be sponsoring the Making a Difference…2011 conference to be held in Brisbane on 20-21 October by the Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council.

Over the two-day conference more than 40 speakers will be providing insight and inspiration to help you break through the barriers in your own work environment.

Key note speakers include:

  • Major General Jim Molan, who was instrumental in ensuring the first democratic elections were held in Iraq
  • Louise Sauvage, Australia's most awarded track athlete and a campaigner for disabled athletes
  • Anh Do, who will share his story as a child refugee at our conference, and his talents as a comedian at the event dinner.

In addition to these speakers delegates will hear also from:

  • Robert Fitzgerald, commissioner with the Productivity Commission
  • Michael Flinn of the Australian Services Union
  • the Hon Peter Garrett AM, MP, Minister for School Education, Early Childhood and Youth
  • the Hon Sussan Ley MP, Shadow Minister for Employment Participation; and Shadow Minister for Childcare and Early Childhood Learning.

Delegates will also have the opportunity to attend seven of 35 dedicated sessions and workshops.
