National health workforce planning includes analysis of supply and demand trends and the provision of advice to government and other stakeholders to inform decision making on a range of workforce policy and program matters.

Health workforce research will be commissioned and coordinated to ensure the Australian Health Ministers’ Conference (AHMC) and health and education sectors have access to comprehensive national, cross-sectoral and jurisdictional workforce planning analysis and information to guide policy, program and investment decisions.
